Country Retreat, Rural Tiskilwa, Illinois Next Design > Description This rural retreat for a Chicago-land family has a great setting; tucked into the timber beside a stocked fishing pond, but its current landscape lacked color and charm and was decimated by the local deer population. The home sat within a sea of lawn that required weekly maintenance. Bergfeld Studio’s re-design reduced the amount of mowing, added tree masses for framing the home and added an outdoor kitchen space.
